California Photo Scout

This is my first post on my new blog and I am nervous.

I decided to make my first post my purpose-statement, giving you an idea why I started this blog and where I plan to go with it.

My Background

I have been living in California for almost a decade now and I have traveled the state from north to south in pursuit of the perfect photograph. I have taken many beautiful pictures and discovered many wonderful places. While some locations are well known, others are off the charts with hardly any information available. I decided to write down and share my familiarity with the Golden State on this blog.

What I will write about

This blog is about photography, it is not a travel blog. I will show you everything California has to offer to photographers, give you precise descriptions or GPS information for finding everything and I will explain what you need to know to get away with the best possible photographs.

I will also try to answer questions regarding lighting, equipment and other special requirements and give resource links.

Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder

I prefer to share my thoughts freely with you. I tell what I like and dislike about a location. You may agree or disagree, but rest assured that I always intend well when I give you my view of something. I do not have a hidden agenda and I will not accept payment to write anything.

Tomorrow I will kick off my posting marathon, adding a new location daily for a week or two. Then I will keep adding several locations per week. I have already finished a great deal of writing to ensure a regular stream of fresh information.
