I spent a full day there in December. Getting there when the park opens is a good idea---few people and plenty of parking even in the winter. As the day goes on the lots fill up and I was told that they will ticket you if you park in a non-designated area. Your day pass lets you come and go during the day, but there's no place close for lunch, so plan accordingly. All that said, well worth the $10!
